ABOUT CONOR REED
I’VE ALWAYS HAD AN EYE.
For color. For texture. For the little detail that makes something hit differently. For looking at something familiar and wondering what else it could be.
Before I was making, I was playing.
I spent years as a Division I basketball player. When that chapter ended and the world shut down, I found myself figuring out who I was without the thing that had defined so much of my life.
And quite literally, I needed something to do with my hands.
So my grandmother taught me how to crochet.
What started as something to pass the time became another way to express myself. Since 2021, I’ve been experimenting—playing with color and texture, taking things apart, adding crochet where it probably wasn’t supposed to go, and following ideas just to see where they take me.
I MAKE WHAT MOVES THROUGH ME.
Sometimes it starts with a person. A story. A garment. An object. Sometimes it’s simply, wait…what if?
My work lives somewhere between fashion, sport, culture and craft—but more than anything, it’s personal.
When I make for someone, I want them to see themselves in it.
The best response isn’t “This is so Conor.”
It’s:
“THIS IS SO ME.”
CONSIDER YOURSELF SEEN.
